Help me give my students an opportunity to know that math is more than a number by using an Algebra Chalkboard Topper, whiteboard storage pockets, and cleaning supplies also.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach seventh grade students. It is a pleasure to teach them. However, my students need assistant in learning math. Their math skills aren’t meeting the expected standards as they progress to high school. I would like to provide them with work soving mathematically. They put aside their differences and discuss what’s needed to solve our math problems in small groups. I appreciate my students. I also am learning about them individually as well as independently. Just the small things to help them feel important and they do matter—-their smiles mean a lot and more.
My Project
Inasmuch, my students have some learning disabilities. With these manipulatives and reinforcements, these items can build their math understanding and their approach to solve problems. Also, these manipulatives and visuals can provide understanding in their skills even as much conversing About what they learned. By working with seventh graders that lack some understanding in math, these hands-on approach can provide the missing skills for learning . But most importantly, it provide connections of understanding and develop a meaningful relationships between each other. Lastly, I want my students to be excited about math in many forms, including visuals, kinesthetics and auditory activities. I want and need for my students to enjoy math and to be confident in their math skills.
