My Students

Do you remember actively participating in science projects at school? Help my students capture the life cycle of a caterpillar!

The students I work with are outstanding individuals.

They come to school prepared to learn and try their best to achieve our high expectations everyday. Our school is located in a low income area with most students receiving free or reduced lunch. Most of my students have limited resources outside of school, so their only chance to experience enriching activities is at school.

My Project

With the caterpillar kits each child will be able to play the role of a scientist by doing individual observations and recording of data. The unique thing about this kit is that each child will observe changes at different stages and will record their individual caterpillar's progress. A butterfly emerges so silently and quickly that when you have only one container it is easy to miss. Having multiple kits will help students witness the amazing transformation taking place.

All students learn best when they can touch, feel, smell, taste, and hear real things!

I want to bring the caterpillar life cycle to life for them within our classroom! This will help them understand and apply this concept in other academic areas. And with environmental philanthropists such as Disney Planet Challenge, UPS, Feed USA, and caring donors these types of projects are possible!
