My Students

As my students begin class they can often be heard asking what special event we have for the day. They are eager to experience learning in a fun and interesting way. My first-grade STEM magnet students are eager to participate in new and hands-on activities.

My young students are filled with wonder and joy as they learn something new each day.

I teach at a Title l school in an area where many of the students live in apartments and have limited financial resources. Many students have parents who work long hours and have to be in childcare or with babysitters. At home, they may not have the time or access to some of the opportunities they could get through school.

My Project

My students are an eager group of first graders. We would like to begin to have weekly robotics lessons with the second grade classroom but we lack materials. I have a few Lego We Do kits but we need another kit for more students to use the materials. This will enable us to do weekly robotics lessons such as create and build a snail and then program it to have flashing lights. These lessons are so engaging and exciting that I want to make sure all students have a chance to use the supplies not just a few.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
