We Care: Part 2

Help me give my students recognition through gift cards incentives and rewards, for their continuous community service initiatives with helping their peers who are less fortunate.

My Project

When students feel connected to a school community, the more likely they are to take a responsible role for their community and feel a sense pride, ownership and commitment. Some of my students saw a need in their school community in which many of their peers were lacking adequate food, clothing, hygiene products, and adequate school supplies and asked how they could help in assisting with the needs of others. As a result, "We Care" was created in Semester one. In semester two, more students are encourage to lend a helping hand to help those in need.

To encourage other students and recognize the students who are filling a much needed school community gap; this project will assist by providing incentives and rewards for students who continue to go above and beyond with managing a community school-based food pantry and clothing closet.

Many students are living in poverty as well as experiencing homelessness, exposure to violence, and living in kinship or foster care placements.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
