This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever tried to concentrate on an assignment when there are a lot of other activities going on in one room?

My students are some of the hardest working kids!

They are fifth and sixth grade special education students, who attend a charter school. They spend 60% more time in school than their public school peers with a longer school year and day. The majority of my students come to us in fifth grade reading at a second grade level.

My Project

My special education students share one resource classroom with 40 students and three teachers, so it can get pretty noisy! (We are also across the hallway from the gym!) With noise canceling headphones my students will be able to better concentrate on their assignments even when there are lots of other activities and conversations going on in their classroom!

Many of my students find it very challenging to concentrate on their work when there is so much activity going on at once in their resource room.

I know that with the help of noise canceling headphones they will be able to complete their work more efficiently and effectively, because they will be able to tune out all the activity going on in their resource room.
