Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are a mixture of English and Spanish speakers, attending a two-way immersion program. They learn in both languages each day, always showing their busy bee, "bee-lingual" pride! I work as a reading specialist to support students in English phonics, fluency, and comprehension.

My intermediate readers need access to high-quality books that they can read independently.

These decodable books from Hello Literacy are the perfect bridge to fluent reading for my students who need to build confidence through repeated practice. As my district shifts to following the Science of Reading, these books fit right in. Because the books are sequential in skill, they do not feel overwhelming. Students are amazed that they can read each and every word!
