Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach a class of happy, enthusiastic 4-5 year olds. Many of them were home, with limited interactions with peers, during the first two years of the pandemic. Being able to hear and practice sounds and words are essential to learning and communicating.

This year, I noticed a significant increase of students who have not yet fully developed sounds they should have before entering school.

Speech challenges hinder communication and expressing thoughts and ideas, while leading to frustration.

Having talking flashcards and an interactive sound board will help my students develop sounds and practice pronouncing words correctly. They will not have to wait for support; the speech materials can be used independently and with peers.
