Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our transitional kindergarten classroom hands-on learning is essential for helping young children make meaningful connections. This project will provide students with pots, soil, and seeds so they can plant and care for their own plants. Through this experience students learn how plants grow.

As students water their plants, observe changes, and discuss their growth, they build early science such as observation, prediction, and questioning.

Gardening also supports fine motor development and encourages responsibility and patience. This will give the students will give them hands-on experience that brings science to life.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
