Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Winter's in New England can be quite chilly, especially when walking outdoors in the morning. Some students are waiting outside for their bus, while many are walking to school on the cold mornings. As the weather got colder and snow is now on the ground, students continue to walk without proper winter essentials. Hats, gloves, and thermal socks will help for the cold walks and wet socks when arriving to school on slushy days. Snacks that are easy to grab and bring home were included as well.

My goal for this project is to provide warm winter essentials for students that are chilly while waiting for a bus or walking to and from school.

Many will walk through the slush and snow, but some will refrain from school on days that are cold, slushy, or snowy. Hopefully, with warmer winter items, students will be encouraged to make the walk on those days.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
