Walk to Water! Hydrate Kids Love to Read and Serve!

Help me give my students "A Long Walk to Water" as a class set for 3 - 6th grade teachers for all students to read together. Establishing a love for reading and working together to help others!

My Project

A Long Walk to Water is based on a true story of one boy's survival and how he helped his community get water to all surrounding villages as an adult. My students love to read and this is a story of one boy and one girl, at different times in history, who struggled in the same geographic area. The boy goes on to have wells built as an adult but those water wells help the girl in the end of the story.

Linda Sue Park based her novel on a true story of many people working together to make a change.

The students will be reading good literature with vocabulary and reading strategies used for comprehension and then create a project cooperating with one another at the end.

The goal is for students to read and discuss together in class and then create their projects. This book is an approved 6th grade level story with ability to raise literacy levels for our children.
