Wagons Ho! For Fourth and Fifth Grade Students

My Students

Our school is a small charter school with only two classes per grade level. These fourth and fifth grade students have worked hard all year to learn about the Oregon Trail and Idaho history. It is something they get excited to learn about everyday.

Our fourth and fifth grade students are hard working and excited about learning!

They love to do hands-on activities that make their learning come alive. They have an incredible work ethic and are a joy to teach.

My Project

I still remember being able to experience Wagons Ho! as a fourth grade student. Being able to offer this learning opportunity to my students would be such a joy! This is the perfect culminating experience to cap off all of the learning we have done about Idaho history and the pioneers. Our fourth grade students from last year were unable to enjoy Wagons Ho! because of lack of funding.

In this experience, students will get to make butter and toys like the pioneers did, cut logs, make a meal over a camp fire, use a brand and many other things that pioneers lived out everyday.
