This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are some of the most resilient, determined, and creative people I know. Our school is 100% eligible for free lunch and yet our students come to school each day eager to learn and grow in academics and character.
I teach STEAM to all students grades K-4 in a Title I, public, charter school in the historic West End of Atlanta.
In the footsteps of civil rights icons, my students learn academic and character lessons that will help them grow into our next generation of leaders.
They love STEAM class because they have the opportunity to learn in new ways, use their hands to build things, and engage with computer science in a way they’ve never experienced before!
My Project
My students always look forward to field trips because they get to escape the four walls of a classroom and venture into new and exciting learning spaces. In the world of virtual learning they need these experiences more than ever, but making it happen for them is no small feat.
I want my students to experience all the science and magic of the aquarium from the safety of their homes!
This field trip will bring their STEM learning to life as well as connect to topics they read about in ELA.
