Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The majority of my students are bilingual, speaking Spanish at home and English at school. Unfortunately, almost none of the books in my library are bilingual, or in Spanish.
I want to help my students celebrate and grow both of their languages!
Research shows that reading in any language improves your skills in all languages that you speak. With these books, my students will be able to celebrate their language and stories, and students who do not speak Spanish can appreciate them as well!
I’m hoping that this is only the start of a bilingual library that my students will enjoy for many years!
