My Project

Our library is home to a diverse group of students, including many who speak Spanish. I want to make sure these students have access to books that they can read, enjoy, and connect with in their primary language.

This project will help me build and strengthen our Spanish-language collection with a variety of high interest novels and graphic novels.

Our current Spanish collection is limited, but the books we do have are regularly checked out. This shows just how much our students want and need more Spanish-language reading options. Expanding the collection will give students more choices and help ensure that they can find books that match their interests and reading levels.

Our school also houses our district's middle school Spanish immersion program. These students will be able to use these books to practice and strengthen their Spanish reading skills while enjoying the same kinds of engaging stories their peers are reading in English.

Every student deserves to see the library as a place where they can find a book that speaks to them. With your help, we can grow our Spanish collection and give our students more opportunities to read, learn, practice their language skills and fall in love with reading.
