My Students

I teach my students to, "Prove them wrong!" Show the world who you really are! Strive for greatness! Each day, they strive to be better. Each day, they take ownership of their learning. I've always been an advocate for providing access and resources for the children and families I serve. For all of my career, I have been blessed to teach in urban northeast Washington, D.C. I am beyond blessed to serve this community.

Our work encompasses the mission and goal of breaking the cycle of poverty in the city.

It starts with the children! I believe they can defy the odds under the best leadership and mentorship.

My Project

This collection of graphic books will engage readers of all levels! In order to improve literacy, we must instill a love for reading in our scholars. These books will do just that! This project is for high quality hard and soft covers texts to incorporate into independent reading, and guided reading. Often times, the guided reading books that come with pre-set libraries do not engage scholars as much as high quality texts. As we consider the shifts in common core, high quality texts that build knowledge will build literate scholars. During these grades, scholars are reading to learn! Let's give them the best books because they deserve it!
