This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Please support my students in utilizing our outdoor classroom with greater ease! At our historical urban public school, we have a small but beautiful outdoor space that overlooks the Boston Harbor. As our school’s STEM specialist, I use the garden all the time with students but I would like to make the space more functional and to increase its use and effectiveness. Having small desks for students to use when writing as well as storage containers (so items don't blow away!) and some essentials, such as safety goggles and a drying rack, to keep outdoors will be so helpful. I am hoping to move most of my teaching outdoors as the weather gets nicer (though we are out there now unless it's too frigid!). The canopy will help to facilitate this even in the often wet New England springtime. The river rocks will allow me to section off spaces for student use as well as provide students an opportunity to personalize the learning space. Thank you again for supporting our school!
