My Classroom, Their Story

I have the privilege of teaching an extraordinary group of students—brilliant, curious, and resilient. Each one comes with a unique story, full of challenges and strength. What amazes me daily is how they show up with creativity, compassion, and a fierce determination to grow, even when the path isn't easy.

This project is about more than just books—it's about connection, confidence, and community. My goal is to ignite a love for reading, strengthen literacy skills, and create a shared experience that brings us closer as a classroom family.

Through a common novel, my students will dive into meaningful conversations, explore character journeys, and express themselves through writing. They’ll learn that being labeled "unteachable" says more about the system than about them. Because the truth is—every student can learn, and every student deserves to shine.

What makes my students truly remarkable is their grit. They face obstacles with courage, lift each other up, and never stop trying. This book will help them see themselves in new ways—as capable, powerful, and worthy of every opportunity.

Their stories matter. And with this project, they’ll begin to see just how much.
