Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Today's technology offers information at your finger tips. In the last decade iPods have become useful tools in the classroom. I would like for my students to experience what these devices have to offer to help them reach their academic needs.

My fantastic first grade students are an energetic and intellectually curious group, ready to learn and conquer the world.

They attend a Los Angeles inner-city school, surrounded by concrete and apartment buildings. Our school is a Title I / Bilingual program school where students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Most students speak another language, other than English, as their primary language.

My Project

Using iPods in a small group setting will allow my students to strengthen their understanding of the subject we are learning. These devices are portable and can be used at the literacy and social studies stations in our classroom. iPods also have the ability to download different educational applications, which my students will be able to use to enhance their skills. The headphone splitter is so multiple students may use them at the same time during small group instruction. As an educator, I will be able to differentiate instruction by promoting collaborative and independent learning.

You could use an iPod as an audio or a video player.

Students who are visual or auditory learners will especially benefit from using these devices. Although iPods have become so popular in the last decade, many of my students are still not aware of what it is or its functions, due to their low socioeconomic status and their affordability. Please help my students facilitate their learning with the use of an iPod.
