My Project

I love that my students are curious, creative, and full of unique interests and personalities. Middle school is such an important time for students to discover who they are as readers and learners, and I want our library to be a place where every student can find a book that speaks to them. Some of my students are already enthusiastic readers, while others are still searching for the book that will finally make reading feel exciting.

The books requested through this project will help us provide students with fresh, engaging choices that reflect a variety of interests, reading levels, experiences, and perspectives.

High-interest books encourage reluctant readers to give reading another try, while new titles give avid readers even more opportunities to explore authors, genres, and topics they love.

These resources will support literacy skills such as comprehension, vocabulary, critical thinking, and fluency, but their impact goes beyond academics. Books help students build empathy, develop confidence, explore new ideas, and see possibilities for their own futures. By adding new books to our middle school library, we can create a collection that keeps students excited about reading and ensures that every student has the opportunity to find a book they cannot wait to open.
