My Students

Enthusiastic, energetic, empathetic, creative, inclusive, and motivated are a few words that come to mind when thinking about the learners in my class. As an intervention teacher, I am given the opportunity to work with different students in a range of grades. I feel incredibly grateful to be able to interact with students who are curious, passionate, and so thoughtful. These students desire to succeed, and I consider it a gift that I am allowed to coach them and provide new pathways to success.

My Project

As a bookworm, I make it a priority to have interesting and eye catching books in our class library. It makes my teacher heart happy to see kids that just can't put down a book they are interested in.

I want to make sure that our classroom library has books that get every kid interested in reading, even if they want to read the same book over and over again. Having a wide variety of TOON graphic novels, such as The Dragon Slayer: Tales from Latin America, Lost in NYC: A Subway Adventure, The White Snake, The Secret of the Stone Frog, and Black Heroes of the Wild West Lunch Lady series, in our class library will help get kids invested in reading, no matter what their favorite subject matter is. Igniting this love for reading through graphic novels will carry on throughout their lives and serve them well!
