Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My fourth-grade students are energetic, curious, and eager to learn. As students in a Title I school, many spend long hours sitting throughout the school day. While they work hard academically, they also benefit from opportunities to move their bodies, release energy, and develop healthy habits that support their physical and mental well-being.

Research shows that movement improves focus, attention, and academic performance.

My students thrive when they are given opportunities to be active throughout the day, especially during transitions, brain breaks, and independent learning activities. One activity they love is running the track and preparing for their track meets.

To support student wellness and engagement, I am requesting a THERUN Walking Pad Treadmill.

The walking pad will be used in school during rainy or cold days when they are not able to go outside and run on the track. Students will have the opportunity to walk/run at a comfortable pace while not losing out on their track meet practices.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
