In our classroom, the camera you helped fund is doing something far more powerful: it's teaching students how to *tell stories*. They are learning how to frame a shot, control lighting, think critically about what message they want to send, and communicate ideas in ways that words alone can't capture. These are real-world, career-ready skills — and they're developing them right here in our school.\r\n\r\nWhat has most excited the students is the professional quality of the footage they're now able to capture. Before, they were working with whatever they had available — phones, outdated equipment — and the results were frustrating. Now, they light up the moment they review their footage on the viewfinder. They can *see* themselves doing something professional. That shift in confidence is extraordinary to witness.\r\n\r\n\r\nYour generosity isn't just a gift of equipment. It's a gift of possibility, of identity, of a future these students are now actively building. For many of my students, especially those who struggle with focus or confidence, having high interest texts helps remove barriers and makes reading feel more accessible and enjoyable. \r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the Roblox books, their reaction were priceless. Their eyes lit up with excitement and many immediately began talking about their favorite characters and stories. Some students who are typically hesitant about reading were eager to pick up a book and start flipping through the pages. There was a noticeable buzz of enthusiasm in the room-students were smiling, sharing and even asking if they could start reading right away. Through hands-on experiences with sewing and coding, students have developed confidence in STEM while also learning how their skills can be used to help others.\r\n\r\nStudents used sewing to design and create meaningful items, practicing patience, precision, and perseverance. At the same time, coding activities strengthened their logical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities. By combining these two areas, students saw that STEM is not just about technology—it is also about creativity and making a positive impact.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, this project emphasized compassion. Students worked together, supported one another, and began to understand how their ideas and efforts can contribute to their community. They took pride in creating with purpose, recognizing that even small actions can make a difference.\r\n\r\nAs a result, students are more engaged, confident, and motivated learners.
