Because of you, my 4th grade students have been able to have an experience that is truly special as we prepare to perform the Disney musical Frozen for our school and community.\r\n\r\nYour donation has had a meanginful impact—far beyond what these materials might suggest. Through this musical theater experience, students are learning essential life skills such as compassion, empathy, teamwork, inclusion, and especially finding their voice, which are the core themes of Frozen.\r\n\r\nThe most meaningful outcome has been the way these materials have supported our students with selective mutism and social anxiety. When speaking feels impossible, they are using the journals as their voices. Through writing and drawing, they are able to express emotions, ideas, and reflections that they are not yet able to share aloud. This has been truly empowering for them, allowing their thoughts and feelings to be heard.\r\n\r\nStudents who often struggle academically have found new confidence through creative expression. Many have taken pride in designing flyers, decorations, and visual materials for our performance. Watching these students work diligently, collaborate with peers, and see their artistic contributions displayed has been incredibly rewarding. They are discovering strengths they didn't know they had—and believing in themselves in new ways.\r\n\r\nStudents with disabilities are fully included in every part of the production. All students work side by side, learning to appreciate individual strengths, support different needs, and celebrate everyone's contributions. They are learning that inclusion is about working together so everyone belongs. These experiences are helping students develop empathy, patience, and respect in a way no textbook ever could. It is rewarding to see new friendships develop as new commonalities are being recognized.\r\n\r\nMy students are using their journals to self reflect on moments when they showed kindness, or when they helped or supported a peer. They are write about how characters in Frozen demonstrate empathy and how those lessons connect to their own lives. The stickers and cardstock are being used to create programs, posters, and messages of kindness that will be shared with our audience—extending the message of compassion beyond the stage and into our community.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our classroom, our students, and the power of compassion, creativity, and inclusion.
