My Students
I am thrilled to introduce you to my amazing and talented students. They come from a variety of backgrounds, and each student has a personal story that will tug at your heart.
Regardless of what they carry with them, when they walk into the classroom they give the best they have.
We work together to learn much more than reading, writing and math. Critical thinking, coping skills, STEM, character, social responsibility and quality choices are equally as important. Our class is part of Brass Community School and were are extremely proud to be actively improving our COMMUNITY through service, support, and presence. My students are learning that they have a direct impact on the world they live in and the life they choose.
My Project
With copies of the book, Touching Spirit Bear, my students will engage with quality literature that they can relate to. Students will have their own copy of the book and be able to read at their own pace, as well as, post note in the text to capture their thinking.
This powerful text will be life-changing for students while enhancing the reading strategies, analysis and critical thinking skills of each student.
The main character, Cole, in this story discovers ways to overcome his circumstance and positively impact the people around him. My students will easily relate to Cole and learn about themselves in the process.
