Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My fourth graders love learning new things. They love coming into my classroom, and many times, during dismissal time, one can hear a few telling the other classmates, "I do not want to go home," or "I want to stay here and continue learning some more."

As bilingual students learning English, they have to work extra hard and think not in one but two languages!

They like to push themselves as well as push each other. They are hard workers and grow each day as learners! It is so gratifying to see them expand on their learning.

My Project

Toon Graphics are comics and visual narratives that bring the text to life in a way that captures young readers' imaginations and makes students want to read more. Children also develop their aesthetic sense when they experience the relationship of text to picture in all its communicative power.

These materials will make a difference in my classroom, as it will help my students with their writing skills.

As struggling readers, my students love reading graphic novels, having the opportunity to supply my students with this resource will help them as readers and writers.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
