This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school, located in South Philadelphia, we have a very diverse population of students which is one thing that I always highlight when I meet other teachers. It is also one of my points of pride as I also come from an immigrant family. Many of our students are new to the country and are still learning the English language. With that they often require read-alongs with their texts. Your contribution to a fresh set of headphones will go a long way in helping our students learn basic phonics and vocabulary.
