My fantastic 5th graders have just started understanding the wonder and joy of reading a good novel. As a school with a large percentage of English language learners, books are so important to my students and are truly valued.
Remote learning has changed they way we teach, but not the way my students feel about sharing a great book!
Please help me supply my awesome kids with a book that we can all read together to finish up this unique school year and one that they can keep and treasure!
My Project
There is a kind of magic that happens to a child when they receive a brand new book of their own to keep. A good book can truly change a child's perspective about the world and help them to understand that their potential is limitless.
These books will help my students' cognitive development, help them to develop empathy, and improve confidence.
My students often do not have books to read at their level in their homes and libraries have been closed during this challenging time of remote learning. It is detrimental that they have no literature to read at home. With copies of the book, Holes, we can read, discuss and grow.
