Help me give my students various learning materials such as the Wipe Clean Workbooks, manners books, Doodle boards, and jump ropes to enhance their distance learning.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My prekindergarten students are some of the sweetest children I have ever met! I currently teach in a Title I public school where many of my students come from low-income families. Our class Zooms have been amazing! I wish that I was able to see each face at every Zoom meeting. It is amazing how my students are so caring and thoughtful enough to wish other students well who are not present, and even pray for them. It brings so much joy to my heart!
It is my desire for my students to have access to learn through various ways to support their distance learning.
Many families have struggled financially, utilizing technology, and/or accessing the materials needed to be successful with the learning plans. It is always good to hear their voices with a simple phone call during this time.
My Project
The coronavirus has had an immense impact on many lives and families. It has been extremely difficult speaking with my prekindergarten students and hearing them question and comment about their inability to attend school and see their friends. It was very heartbreaking experiencing and witnessing the parents of my students crying during our class Zoom meetings from the lack of resources, finances, and access to technology.
With these materials, my students will be able to have access to various hands-on learning materials that will enrich and enhance gross motor, fine motor, social and emotional skills, and all content areas to fully prepare my students for the next phase of their lives.
