This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Success Through Practice" is my classroom motto. Success through hard work is what I want my students to realize and practice. At least 2-3 times a day, I remind my students, "The only way to get better at something is to practice. The more we practice, the better we will get!" Skills and knowledge do not come easy. You have to earn it.

Most of my students are English Language Learners that come from low socio-economic backgrounds and/or immigrant families, but they are very much the same as any 4-5-year-olds in the United States: they love to play, sing, dance and impress their teacher.

And their teacher very much wants to see them succeed.

My Project

My transitional kindergarten students are creative and curious, and aspire to be future scientists, technologists, engineers, artists, and mathematicians.

This Lenovo Flex Laptop PC opens a world of possibilities for my students.

As their teacher, I want to see my students engage in learning experiences that go above and beyond anything they would learn 2-dimensionally.

This laptop will allow my students to engage in various STEM projects that include exploring 3D cad websites like Tinkercad. Tinkercad is a free website that students can use to create various 3-dimensional projects. I would then be able to print their creations using our class 3D printer. Students can also scan various images, using our scanner, and can print their scans with our printer.

My goal is to use this Lenovo Flex Laptop PC to scan each student and place their image on Tinkercad. Students would be able to explore their image and resize and scale their image. I plan to 3D print their images to the size of an action figure. Students would then be able to take their action figures and share them with others in the class.

We can use the action figures for Show and Tell and various All About Me projects. Students can also create videos with their actions figures and illustrations using their action figures as models. These projects will be shared with parents using various websites, such as ClassDojo and Flipgrid.

The possibilities are endless when my TK students STEM into action!
