My students are awesome! They are creative thinkers with so much passion. They love to share their ideas and they definitely think outside of the box. They have shown so much growth in just a couple of months of school, but there is definitely a lot of stress they are dealing with. Living through a pandemic has been so hard on many of my students, but they surprise me every day with their positive spirits.
My Project
This year has been a different type of school year. Students are coming back from an uncertain year of hybrid learning, remote learning, and the unexpected. They have been in online meetings after online meetings. They have missed out on social interactions with their peers to overwhelming social interactions. I have had to ask to talk to other peers in class and it has been hard work. So, I decided to conduct an experiment... With the couple of games I have, I had students choose games and pair up. They weren't allowed to be on their phones and they had to participate. They did it! They had so much fun and they were interacting with each other. I want to help to continue the social interactions in my class. With these games, such as Connect 4, UNO, and LEGO sets, I will be able to help build relationships.
