My Students

I teach a group of uniquely talented 5th grade students. Each one of them is special in its own distinct way. At our school, we work together and celebrate each other. Nearly all of my students started at our school in Pre-K, so they know and exhibit the Six Pillars of Character on a daily basis.

My kids are avid learners.

Even when they struggle, they always try to give their best efforts, no matter what the task at hand is.

The majority of my students come from low-income families. They don't always have the means to participate in or do certain things at our school. As their teacher, I try my best to "meet them in the middle", but that doesn't always happen. I'm hoping that I can utilize DonorsChoose to fill in the gaps when it comes to getting my students what they need.

My Project

Being organized makes everything else easier. Especially for my students. It helps them get their work done faster without wasting time looking for all of their things. It allows them to keep your assignments and class information organized by subject. For students, being organized is particularly important since it helps them learn how to prioritize activities, set and achieve goals and reduce stress. Having good organizational skills also makes it easier to collaborate with others and helps increase productivity and efficiency. It shows them simple and careful life skills that they will need to carry on throughout their career.
