My Project

Our classroom needs a gathering place for all the students to sit and collaborate each day. First graders transition from their seats to the carpet many times each day.

On the carpet, we have morning meetings, whole group phonics, and problem solve math together.

This group of first graders get excited when they are able to sit near peers, share manipulatives while learning, and turn and talk using higher level thinking strategies.

Our current carpet is not large enough for all the students and they enjoy working on the carpet.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
