My students need two Safco Products AlphaBetter Stand-Up Desks with Swinging Footrest Bar to help high energy students to stay focused in the special education classroom.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school in Tennessee. Our students come from a diverse community, made up of both urban and rural areas. More than half of our students come from low-income families, and 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Many of our students are impacted by socioeconomic issues.

Several of my students are effected by the symptoms of ADHD. Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a brain disorder marked by an ongoing pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with functioning or development. (NIMH)

Studies show that movement can help students with ADHD to better focus and manage moods.

My Project

My high energy students need the option of stand-up desks to help them manage their own behavior and to improve their focus and time on task so they can learn. Teaching students to self-advocate can help students both academically and socially.

The donations for this project will provide the appropriate stimulation that my students need due to their disabilities.

When the students use the stand-up desks when needed, this will reduce the amount of distractions that occur in my classroom.

With less behavioral issues, we can increase learning for all students.

Please help to provide my students with the tools they need to experience success.
