Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are participating in a STEAM enrichment experience designed to deepen their understanding of science through hands-on exploration, problem-solving, and collaboration. Through this opportunity, students engage with science concepts in meaningful ways by building models, testing ideas, analyzing data, and explaining their thinking.

This enrichment experience is especially important for students who may not otherwise have access to hands-on science materials or STEM opportunities that help prepare them for the future.

By providing these resources, students can build confidence, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for science while developing critical thinking and collaboration skills.

The materials requested will allow students to engage in authentic scientific practices using inquiry-based, hands-on tools. These resources support exploration, experimentation, and creative design, helping students connect classroom learning to real-world scientific thinking. Students will explore topics such as engineering design and structural stability, earth science including rocks and minerals, life science concepts like human body systems, physical science topics such as light, force, and motion, and scientific communication and teamwork.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
