Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Most students at my high-needs school qualify for the free lunch program, which means they cannot obtain the most basic school supplies, such as pens and pencils. My students are a bright, enthusiastic group who genuinely enjoy learning. It saddens me that they often go without the school supplies they need.

For this project, I am requesting basic classroom supplies, including colored copy paper, pens, tissues, glue sticks, and pencils.

Notebook paper, pens, and pencils will keep students working on their assignments -- as most of our writing is done in class without technology. The tissues and hand sanitizer will keep students healthy. With these supplies, students can participate in the day's lesson and complete projects without worrying about having the needed resources.

Without the basic tools used for studying, students cannot grow as readers, writers, and thinkers. My students see themselves as scholars, and there is no reason why they should be without the most basic school supplies.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
