Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come to school with a desire for learning. They come from low-income families who value education. They are also diverse, coming from different ethnic backgrounds. Many of the students in our school speak a second language.

I am fortunate to work with all students from kindergarten through fifth grade and love sharing new technology with them throughout their time in elementary school.

They love working in groups and work together to solve problems. They also love using technology as a tool for research, problem-solving, learning, reading and day-to-day practice. My students are excited to learn new things.

I love working with students and teachers in our school as they integrate technology into their teaching and learning.

My Project

Students in my school come from many backgrounds. They love having picture books where the characters look like them and celebrate in the same ways they do. These books also help them learn more about the many different cultures of the peers they go to school with.

Over the last few years, it has been hard to create classroom communities.

I have found that reading picture books together has helped create stronger bonds as we work together to create a learning environment where everyone is safe and welcome. Picture books help foster communication and also help students talk about difficult subjects.
