Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at a Title I inner-city school in Los Angeles. My students are part of a Dual Language program. Many of my students are English language learners who strive for academic excellence. Every day, they come to our virtual class ready to learn. Learning two languages is not easy, especially during a pandemic, but my students are confident, motivated, and dedicated individuals who want to learn all that they can.

My students are bilingual.

Being bilingual means adjusting to two cultures. My students work hard every day in order to master two languages. They are making gains in order to achieve great things and to prepare for college so that they can grow up to become successful individuals.

My Project

My amazing students come to school ready to learn. They love to read, solve math problems, and write.

A writing station equipped with paper, pens, folders, and an electric stapler will allow students to create their own stories.

My students will have fun writing about their daily adventures and create stories that can become books to place in the library. Having these materials will allow students to become authors and help them keep their drafts organized until they are ready to publish.

My students will become amazing readers and writers as they use the tools to express their creativity.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
