This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are on the science side of an art and science magnet school. Families decide to have their child focus on science. Students who choose the science side receive an additional science class on top of the science requirement. They are all there to do science based labs. My students love hands-on activities. Many of my students are coming from elementary schools where they range from very little science experience to a lot of science experience. So I have a wide range of needs.

My Project

Students are in need of items to help them learn about plants.

The first thing that they will need is a set of goggles to do plant dissections.

Goggles will help protect their eyes during these dissections as well as others. We will be doing other dissections throughout the year. These goggles will follow the students throughout their time at school.

We are also wanting a flower press. The flower press will allow students to preserve their items to remember what we are doing.

In our class, we talk about always being able to learn and that we are scientists. We will use the DVD's to learn more information from another source.
