The Wellness Room

Help me give my students more materials for their wellness room. Their wellness room was created this year to have a safe place students can go. It helps them self regulate their motions and ask for help.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What makes our students special? The students here at our school are the future leaders of tomorrow! They come from diverse backgrounds, different family make-ups and have the ability to learn together. They are family and have shown great resilience.

My Project

The resources will be directly used for social-emotional. Having a place like the wellness room provides a safe place that students go when overwhelmed. Signaling to the teacher that a break is needed when sad, upset or unfocused contributes to the student regulating their needs.

Once in the wellness room the student can identify their feelings and what we need to work on shift their mindset.

By shifting their mindset the students are taught coping skills. Coping skills that they can learn and use throughout the day. That will continue to contribute to self-regulation.
