My Project

My 8th graders are ambitious, hands-on learners who want to improve their school environment. They live in a fast-paced urban area where quiet, green spaces are hard to find. They’ve already shown incredible initiative by fundraising for the "bones" of our new outdoor space—buying the cinderblocks and lumber needed to build their own custom seating.

The Project

We have the structure; now we need the soul. This project is the final phase of our student-designed greenspace. We are seeking turf carpets to soften the hard ground, planters to bring life and biodiversity to the area, and exterior paint so students can add a mural and color to their hand-built benches.

By adding these elements, we are transforming a barren patch of pavement into a "Living Lounge."
