My Project

Connecting students to real world studies, especially specific case studies, helps ground their science understanding. It lets them see the application of the theories and practices that they are learning, and hopefully will inspire them to want to follow in the paths of those scientists. For our IB science student the facts have been well memorized. Getting to step beyond that, to get to the enjoyment of the application, and then using that to create a high school local scale study of their own must also be a part of their experience.

Learning from The Serengeti Rules, by Sean Carroll will fulfill the goals of exploring scientists that applied our topics and shared their practices and results, thus being able to lead the way to students developing possible applications of the ecology that we learn about to our local areas.

Give us the footsteps to follow in by supporting our class with a set of this book, and our student scientists will continue to prepared well to be our future discoverers and scientific leaders.
