This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

New Frontiers!! Middle School starts a student Newspaper. Our school is a very unique place. It is a K-8 school that serves a population that has a focus on the high need community it serves.

This past September a fellow teacher and myself ventured into uncharted waters. We had decided that it was time to begin a Student Newspaper. We were going to do this with the purpose of our students to become independent thinkers and writers. We wanted them to get the story from their fellow students(thus, The Scoop). When we had started we did not realize how much money it would cost for our newspaper to go to print. Quickly we learned that the cost is very expensive. Our newspaper is now at a crossroad!! HELP!!

The resources we need right now are two laser printers (to help the students print the newspaper). This will allow us to reach every student in our middle school by distributing the newspaper to every student of the student body.
