The Right Stuff to Turn Trash Into Treasure!

Help me give my students basic art supplies including canary cutters, trauma shears, and glue.

My Project

My students are creative problem solvers. I try to provide as many opportunities for them to flex their creativity in the short time I have them, but it takes a lot of "stuff". We need supplies to complete basic art lessons and a few special projects. We are planning projects that include recycling trash and repurposing it into beautiful works of art. Students will be making cardboard sculptures and finishing up weaving projects that turn plastic bags into baskets.

Having the "right stuff" makes all the difference in art class.

Sadly, we are running out of everything all at once! Our basic consumable art supplies like pencils, tape, and glue are dwindling. Our rulers are so chipped that students have trouble drawing straight lines. The classroom scissors are dull and just can't cut the cardboard. I want to purchase canary cutters and trauma scissors so that students can cut bulky cardboard without cutting themselves.

New supplies will really set my students up for success. I always let my students know about the generosity of donors- friends, family, and even strangers who are willing to invest in them! Students will feel appreciation and gratitude for the people who donate and make these projects possible. In turn, when my students are adults, they may be in a position to donate to others, as they will remember the generosity shown to them through donorschoose.org.
