Help me give my students new over-the-ear headphones, as we have been using the same ones for the past two years and many of those are no longer working.

My Students

I have 22 caring and compassionate students who are working hard this year to learn more about the 10 pillars of character that we introduce each month. It is amazing to watch them learn all the ways to be trustworthy and respectful (these are from the first two months of school) and to model those traits throughout the school.

We have created our classroom to be a community.

The students love the fact that what they have to share and say are important. As a community we reflect on our achievements and areas of concern and what we can do to improve ourselves as individuals and as a group.

On Friday afternoons we allow time for reflection and then provide opportunity to work on a collaborative/team project or just allow time for students to shop in the classroom store with the tickets they have earned.

My Project

Headphones have become an integral part of our everyday learning. Our district has implemented several online programs that allow for the information to be read to the students. Some of these programs are designed for individual instruction.

This becomes very noisy and disruptive when we have several students working at the same time.

It becomes especially difficult when everyone is working on their assignment and you have 10 different programs speaking at different times and at different moments in the lesson. Headphones for everyone would make a world of difference.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
