The telephones will allow students to read aloud to the themselves without disturbing others; the telephones will give our young readers a chance to hear themselves and self-monitor as they read. The one minute timers will also be helpful in teaching the students to check and monitor their fluency progress, tracking their wpm (words per minute). The books will us teachers create authentic opportunities for our students to engage with some fluency work, helping them become better readers.
These materials will be extremely useful in providing our students with the right tools to build and strengthen their reading fluency.
