Help me give my students a novel that offers a solution to boredom and promotes a healthy view of education. "The Phantom Tollbooth" (Norton Juster, 1988) is a classic that I know my students will love!

My Students

I have a wonderful group of students! In the first month, I have already discovered incredible artists, musicians, mathematicians, historians, comedians, scientists, readers and writers. My classroom holds English Language Learners, students with special physical and social needs, younger siblings of my former students, and kids who attend the same church as my family! There is great diversity in my classroom which leads to incredible learning opportunities! One thing that we all have in common is that we’re ready and willing to learn and grow. It’s going to be an awesome year!

My Project

I am requesting resources to pay for a class set of the novel "The Phantom Tollbooth" by Norton Juster (1988). This book includes themes like the value of education, being appreciative, using common sense, and the power of imagination. This book is so compelling as it uses relatable (and quirky) characters and exciting adventures to draw readers in and teach valuable lessons.

TriStar Pictures is currently in the beginning stages of turning The Phantom Tollbooth into a movie!

How awesome would it be for my students to read the book and compliment it with a film? It's the perfect pair!
