My Students

As the behavior team, we are always looking for new items, projects..etc. to help our students be successful not only in the class but in school as a whole. Our intermediate school has grades 4th-8th. We as the behavior teamwork with all the students in the building that are in different environments like Functional Skills, Learning Skills, STRATS, and General Education. We hope that through this project we can give students more variety in strategies that can help them be successful as well as learn new skills! Especially after distance learning and during COVID, it's important for us to teach skills that students can use during stressful times!

My Project

The resources that we are requesting will help their social-emotional learning by teaching them in a quieter environment that will allow optimal learning! We will use these tools to strengthen our students social needs! Using the carts will allow us to be mobile and be able to reach more students as we would push into classroom instead of our social skills room.

Teaching social skills is a big part of our job as we are teaching the students a way to be successful in conversations with peers and adults.

Some of our students are light sensitive, the covers will help dim the lights so they can process with us without having to worry about the brightness. Snacks are really important as some of our students don't get breakfast or they just need a snack to get through the day.

We use temperature like cold and hot to help calm students or if they get hurt!

Observation cameras will help us be able to observe what the student is doing and how they interact with others around them as to stay current on their needs and Intervention Plans.

We would like to have a healthy environment for our students as many of them have health issues and with COVID we would like to keep the air around them is clean so they don't have to worry about anything other than their work!

The fidgets will help the students to stay calm and being able to work in class successfully!

The majority of our students have sensory needs and with the rug they are able to touch something soft which will help them calm down faster.

We hope that we can continue this project for future students! Thank You!
