My students need fantasy novel sets to provide opportunities to read from a genre with a team of similar abilities.

My Students

Historical fiction, realistic fiction, and biographies are a few of the genres we've read this year, but one of my students' favorites is fantasy.

My fifth grade students are kind, generous, and hard working.

I am thankful that I get to work with them each day. We are a diverse group of students, but we make a complete classroom family.

My students have embraced genre study this year with curiosity and enthusiasm. I always try to keep them in suspense as to what genre we will explore next. I am grateful for their positive attitudes and open minds as we read from genres I have chosen for us.

My Project

The fantasy novel sets that I am requesting will allow me to have students with various reading abilities reading together in small groups. This will also make it possible for all teams to be able to read from the same genre while still reading what is best suited for their ability.

I am always looking for ways to nurture lifelong reading habits.

This is a genre many children are motivated to read for the sheer pleasure it provides them. Talking animals, exotic worlds, magical powers! These are all things we can read about through the fantasy genre.

The single copies of novels that I am requesting will enable me to have a variety of anchor texts that I can read aloud for us all to enjoy together!
