My Students

As we continue this school year, I want to have a spectacular classroom for my students to learn in! I want it to be a place where each child can feel comfortable; a place where every student can be their own unique self. Our school is located in a busy urban neighborhood, and my students come from many different backgrounds. Each scholar brings something different to the classroom family; and I want them to feel at ease so that they can learn and grow with confidence.

The items listed in this project will help enhance the classroom experience for my students, while also providing essential materials that will help with our daily learning.

My Project

My students have been hard at work learning how to read fluently at grade level over the past semester. I would like to challenge them a bit more with their reading as we move into our second semester, and would like for them to start engaging and processing longer texts.

I have a dream of giving each of my students a longer text that they can process in their own way to help them continue to grow as readers.

In this project, students will receive their own copy of a book, a highlighter to find important information in the text, a pencil to record notes, and a small notebook to record those notes in. I'm hoping that my students will find a new joy for reading as they embark on this new challenge. I'm also hopeful that my students will grow in their note taking/writing skills as well.
