My Project

My students are vibrant, hands-on learners who thrive when they can connect classroom lessons to the real world. Many come from backgrounds where access to high-quality STEM tools is limited. They aren't just students; they are budding scientists and digital citizens who show up every day with a "can-do" attitude, ready to explore how the world works.

Our classroom is transforming into a Living STEM Lab, a space where biology and technology collide.

This project will allow students to move from "reading about science" to "doing science" through three main components.

Using Jiffy-Mix soil, peat pellets, and nutrients, students will engineer an indoor garden. They will use metal watering cans and fertilizer to manage plant life cycles, applying math to track growth rates and chemistry to balance nutrients.

To document their findings, students need focus. Bulk headphones will allow them to engage with science simulations and coding modules without distraction. Our power strip tower ensures our research tablets remain charged and ready for data logging.

Science requires precision. Students will use Ticonderoga pencils, Ink Joy pens, and Astro Brights cardstock to create detailed botanical journals and data charts. Flexible floor cushions allow them to sit right next to their plants, fostering a deeper connection to their "living experiments."
