My Students

Every morning we are greeted with smiles from every student that enters our doors. They love to come to school and learn through play. With over 90% of the students coming from low income/poverty-stricken families, the abilities of the parents to allow for proper learning environments at home is less. It is crucial for our classroom to provide as many learning opportunities as possible.

Covid guidelines have tossed a curve ball into every classroom for every teacher and student.

They have been very resilient in adjusting to the new ways to play and interact in the classroom. We spend each year setting up a fun early learning foundation that is key to later school success. The students love to learn and we want to be able to provide those learning opportunities for them.

When in the classroom we want the children to have as many opportunities to explore and learn on their own with as much freedom as possible. The items that are listed will be a great opportunity for the students to explore using their 5 senses and allowing the learning to happen naturally in the classroom

My Project

The light table and translucent manipulatives will allow the student to deepen their focus skills and fine motor grips through a fun and engaging way in the classroom. Every one of our students love to look a the lights around town during the holidays and this will allow daily exploration of light and how it interacts with different materials. This project will allow for self teaching and exploration without the worry of things not working or something breaking.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Our students come from homes that are very active and no time to focus on learning and self exploration. This will allow the students the time to explore at their own pace in an environment that they are comfortable in. When the students are able to explore small items it allows for their fine motor muscle memory to be built. When building these fine motor muscles it allows for future success in school
